The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce has been representing the interests of the local business community since 1959. For 52 years, local Business Leaders have volunteered their time, their energy and their experience by serving on the Chamber Board and Chamber Committees. The very foundation of the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce has been and still is… those local Business Leaders who volunteer to serve and share their collective expertise with our membership through leadership and direction for our organization. We proudly represent the one institution in this community that really can put our people back to work……….The Business Community! Our mission is to advance, promote and encourage successful business growth for our members. The Chamber’s pro-business outlook supports and protects the Free Enterprise System that made our country great; creating jobs and opportunities for all people is the American Dream.
As you review the Chamber’s 2011 Agenda, we hope that you will ask how you can get involved and take part in its accomplishment. All of our initiatives are dependent upon volunteer participation. Volunteers wrote the agenda, volunteers are underwriting its accomplishment and volunteers are critical to its success.
2011 AGENDA
1) Community and Economic Development – The Chamber will actively engage and support a strategic alignment to aid local economic development for new and existing businesses.
2) Support of Existing Business Members- The Chamber will provide opportunities for our members to improve profitability and growth.
3) Promote Image of the Chamber in the Community – The Chamber will convey the objectives and actions of the Chamber Membership in a way to create an awareness of the value of the Chamber to the community and to business.
4) Public Policy Voice- The Chamber will establish liaisons with local, state and federal elected officials and communicate changes in policies or issues that may impact our members.
